Oregon Based Investment
Since the 1960s, central Oregon has been a regional vacation destination for the Northwest. With numerous lakes and rivers and stunning mountain views, the region is an ideal location for visitors from the wet and rainy population centers on the west side of the Cascade range as well as the often over-priced vacation destinations of northern California. The development trend for destination resorts in central Oregon is toward high-value second homes not intended for overnight lodging use. There are a number of new resorts in the development process in central Oregon, including Caldera Springs, Broken Top, Pronghorn, Tetherow, Brasada Ranch, Remington Ranch, Aspen Lakes and Hidden Canyon. The difference between Sunriver and the competing resorts is that Sunriver has its amenities in place and a large population base already at the resort. None of the new destination resorts have plans to develop a significant retail Village core, which means there is a market opportunity for the retail, commercial and condo hotel residences proposed at the Village at Sunriver development.
